Wii Skins

The Nintendo Wii is the most popular next generation console by far selling over 50 million units currently. Although it may not be the most powerful, it is the most innovative, i.e. the wiimote. Another factor that helps the Wii sell so well is that it targets a wide demographic, everyone from children to adults to the elderly. The Wii is a great system overall but it has a flaw that not many people talk about: it’s far too plain for most individuals. That may not deter many people from purchasing the console but who wants something identical to millions of other users? Not me and probably not you either since you’re reading this page. So what can you do about your plain white Nintendo Wii console?

Wii Skins

One of the easiest ways to customize your Wii console is to apply a vinyl decal kit to your case. The decals come in three parts and most include Wii remote skins. You don’t even have to open your case to put Wii skins on so you get to save your warranty! If you ever decide you don’t like it, just want to change skins, or have to send your system in, you can at anytime since they are easily peeled off. Most of these decals are quite durable and will most likely last the lifetime of your Wii system. The best thing about Nintendo Wii skins is that they are quite cheap, you can usually grab one for about $15-20 if you know where to look. Many local game stores carry skins and you can always find some online at just about every big online store like Amazon. You can even find them in department stores like Walmart sometimes.

If you can’t find a video game console skin that you like you can usually get a custom skin made. Many sites will let you upload an image that they will print out onto a skin for you to put on your Wii. You can use anything you’d like, from your favorite video game character to a completely new and unique image you made yourself. Some sites even have a tool where you can create the image right on their page.

Painting Your Wii Case

If you want a truly custom Wii design the best bet is to just do it yourself. If you want to take this route you will have to disassemble your Wii case and Wii remote cover and this will void your warranty so you need to know if it’s worth it to you. You will need basic painting and sanding skills as well as a few easy to obtain materials that you can find at any department store.

Custom Wii Cases

If you really want your Wii console to stand out from all the others you should grab a custom Wii case. Just remember that you will void your warranty because you have to take your console completely apart. But if your warranty has already ran out or you just don’t care, then its a great mod for console that will have you be the envy of all your friends. Custom cases for the Wii come in all different types – from a pure sleek looking chrome design to a KFC style case complete with Wiimote drumstick mod. You can always have your own case made if you can’t find one that fits your needs.

You really don’t have to stomach that ugly default Wii design anymore if you take one of these routes. Remember that your Wii skin isn’t just eye candy, it also shows off who you are as a person.
